Years ago, Dot Leck and her son, Dave, recognized that they shared a love for quality and personal service. They both were also driven by the excitement of their entrepreneurial hearts. They wanted to create a business together that focused on outstanding service. They intensely studied the lifestyles and needs of Americans. In 1976, they created Leck Travel Service, a unique travel agency offering high-quality service connections world-wide.
Dot and Dave’s agency began at a time when more Americans than ever before were being required to travel for business on journeys that needed more than a car to get there. More Americans, too, were able to afford vacations that could take them and their families to exotic and fun locations. Leck Travel Service offered a way to communicate and coordinate their needs especially regarding lesser known destinations.
At the time, there was no internet and most travel agencies used phones and the postal service to research locations and arrange tours. They vigorously worked every day to find the best value for their customers. Leck Travel’s commitment to core values in business of integrity and customer service gave them exclusive and permanent connections to dozens of clients throughout Texas.
Today, Dave says his mother, who passed away in 1999, would be astonished at how the internet has enabled millions of people to book air travel, rent vehicles and confirm hotel accommodations on their own. But, as most frequent travelers know, online research is time consuming and it’s extremely difficult to find all the best values and service combinations. When it comes to quality and in-depth travel planning, more travelers are now requesting the help of professionals, like those at Leck Travel Service, to make the right connections for them.
Today, Dave and his sister, Debbie, carry on the family service-centered business tradition. Leck Travel Service clients now range into the thousands of customers, stretching from coast-to-coast and around the globe.
